POWERING

Political Possibilities

Meeting the moment often requires adapting and evolving the strategies and tools needed to drive impact. Women Donors Network's early members understood this, building change and growth into our DNA.

Our History

In 2017, as the political landscape shifted nationwide, our members recognized that c3 dollars would not be enough to counter what we were facing. We needed more robust ways to build political power. Women Donors Action, the c4 sibling organization to Women Donors Network, was founded in response—to expand our advocacy efforts and invest in political power-building.

Since 2017, Women Donors Action has mobilized more than $50 million, investing in organizing to support issue advocacy and voter mobilization, resourcing new c4 infrastructure in key states, and moving rapid response dollars quickly when needed.

Our funding has also helped build early momentum ahead of key races, giving organizers the flexibility to plan and implement their strategies well in advance of Election Day. But we don’t invest in these efforts just to help a particular party or candidate win, but to make lives better. Electing leaders is only the first step in creating transformative change; we must support our leaders once they are elected and hold them to their campaign promises. From issue advocacy to voter turnout to co-governance, WDA funds the full spectrum of systems change work.
